Sit down for a pre-interview focusing on the life moments you do – and don’t – want to focus on.

Step 2: Recorded Interview
We bring the professional lighting, audio, and video equipment into the comfort of your own home, and then sit down for a conversational interview.

Step 3: Family Photos/Video
You supply us with your personal photos/videos from over the years that we will incorporate into your DocuMe video.

Step 4: Studio Editing
We will use the best takes from your interview and seamlessly integrate them into a studio-quality featured documentary that includes your personal photos/images, along with cinematic background music.

Step 5: Watch Party
While we know each video will be viewed countless times over the years, nothing is better than hosting a watch party with your family to watch it together for the first time.

This is designed to celebrate the life you’ve lived and the accomplishments you’ve made. From childhood to school, career, and family, we make sure your video highlights your greatest hits. This half-day shoot is great for fathers, mothers, and even grandparents.

2-Couples Video

From the moment you met to the time you fell in love, this couples video brings your love story to the big screen. We’ll interview each of you separately to document the individual paths that brought you together, and then we will interview you together to document the stories of love, family, and adventure. Whether you’re just starting your family or whether you’ve already got grandkids, these are the stories that they will cherish forever.

Custom / Family Retreat

Some life stories are just too big for an individual or even a couple to share. For these occasions, we’ll interview other generations within your family for a richer, and more meaningful legacy video.  Depending on the family focus, this could include interviews with your children, grandchildren, parents, or even grandparents.

FAQs

What’s included in a DocuMe legacy video?

Once your video is finished being edited, you’ll get a link to download the video as well as a saved copy on a USB stick. There will also be audio versions of the interview that you can save to your phone for those times you’re on a long road trip.

Who is DocuMe designed for?

If you’ve ever lost a loved one, you know how big of a hole that leaves, so DocuMe is geared toward those with families or close loved ones. In a sense, DocuMe is geared to be “emotional” life insurance for your loved one’s heart. Life can be amazing but fleeting in an instant, so it’s never too soon to start thinking about your own DocuMe life story.

How long does the process take?
After your interview date is scheduled, it’s generally 2-4 weeks before the final video is ready, which assumes you already have your family photos/video prepared. Depending on the package selected, the interview process is from a half day to a full day. Additional time is needed before and after the interview for setup and teardown of the professional lighting, audio, and video equipment.
Where do you do the actual filming?

Filming is done in the comfort of your own home. During our pre-interview, we’ll discuss ideal room locations for lighting and space for the video/lighting gear.

Do you offer payment plans?
To help offset the initial cost, we do offer payment plans to make your forever legacy video easier. Feel free to reach out so we can discuss options.
Can we provide our own photos and videos?
Certainly, it’s practically a requirement to get the full life story experience. We will provide you with a recommendation of the different life-moment photos to ensure there are wonderful visuals of the story you are sharing. We support standard photo formats, such as JPEG and PNG, but no PDF files, please. When saving or scanning photos and videos, please ensure they are saved in high-resolution format. Additional photo/video requirements will be outlined during the pre-interview process.
Can I edit my DocuMe legacy video?
Yes, we offer one round of editing to ensure the final video captures your memories and stories perfectly. Noteworthy, most of the “editing” actually happens during the actual interview itself. Everyone usually gets a little camera-shy in the beginning, but after hundreds of on-camera interviews, we know how to help you tell your stories in the most meaningful way.
